Easy homemade marshmallow recipe to make yourself

🌽 25 g of cornstarch 🎨 Food coloring (of choice)

Step-by-step preparation

STEP 1: In a pot, mix 225 g of sugar and 5 cl of water, then bring to a boil.

STEP 2: Use a thermometer probe to cook the mixture until it reaches a temperature of 121 °C (soft ball stage).

STEP 3: In the meantime, soften 10 g of gelatin in cold water to incorporate it later.

STEP 4: Beat 120 g of egg whites in a bowl until stiff peaks form.

STEP 5: Once the sugar mixture is ready, incorporate the softened gelatin while whisking the egg whites.

STEP 6: Continue whisking until you achieve a smooth and homogeneous mixture that starts to thicken.

STEP 7: Then, add 100 g of icing sugar and 100 g of cornstarch, and mix gently.

STEP 8: Pour the mixture into a frame or a dish lined with parchment paper and let it rest for 2 hours.

STEP 9: Once the resting time is over, cut the marshmallows into cubes and dust them with icing sugar and cornstarch.

STEP 10: Let them dry in the air for a few hours before enjoying your homemade marshmallows!
